THE STUDENT CLIMATE PROJECT COMES TO LONDON: 18TH TO 20TH APRIL 2008

The Student Climate Project was launched in August 2007, to inspire the wider student body into taking radical action against climate change. All are invited to get involved and contribute to building a mass student movement against this most critical of issues.

Here's a taste of what we are getting up to in London!
Friday 18th April
Day of Active Outreach at Roehampton University

This will see a flurry of creative activity, ranging from theatre to workshops to film showings (as well as plenty of vegan cakes). The more people who can contribute to this the better. If you’d like to get involved in outreaching to the students of Roehampton, then please email us.

Saturday 19th April
National Student Climate Camp Gathering @ London Action Resource Centre (www.londonarc.org)

11am-4pm: National Climate Camp Student Meeting. Hosted by the networking group for the Camp for Climate Action. This meeting is a chance to discuss how we can get as many students as possible to come to this year's camp at Kingsnorth power station. All welcome, whether students or not.

Sunday 20th April
Student Climate Project planning gathering @ London Action Resource Centre (www.londonarc.org)

10am-4pm: The Student Climate Project came out of the Heathrow Climate Camp, and has since been developing projects that aim to inspire the wider body of students to get involved in radical climate action. We are now at the stage where we are ready to put many of these exciting projects into action, but we need loads more people to do this. We are also welcome to new project ideas.

The Student Climate Project is a chance to play a part in building a mass student movement against climate change. We run through consensus decision making and are non-hierarchical, meaning everyone gets a chance to contribute equally and fairly. All are welcome, whether students or not, to come along.

CRASH SPACE IS AVAILABLE ON BOTH FRIDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT FOR THE GATHERINGS. IF YOU ARE ARRIVING ON FRIDAY NIGHT PLEASE CONTACT US BEFORE SO WE CAN GIVE YOU DETAILS OF WHERE TO GO.

Contact us at networking@studentclimateproject.org.uk and check out our website at www.studentclimateproject.org.uk

NB: We decided to postpone the train action for the time being, due to feeling that planning for long term student networking on a national scale must take priority.
