Our aim is simple: we want to see a mass student uprising against climate change, that is creative and radical. Central to our process is non-hierarchy and consensus decision making, meaning everyone gets an equal chance to contribute.

The Student Climate Project

The Student Climate Project is an open network of students who came together at the Heathrow Climate Camp in 2007. Our aim is simple: we want to see a mass student uprising against climate change, that is both creative and radical. If you share this aim then get involved. Central to our process is non-hierarchy and consensus decision making, meaning everyone gets an equal chance to contribute to our work.

Right now, we have two exciting projects in the pipeline, and we need loads of people to get involved with both:

Tour of Climate Action '08

The Student Climate Project's aim is to reach out to the wider student body. We figured the best way to do this would be to get travelling and descend on as many universities across the UK as possible. Therefore, much of our work fits into the structure of our Tour of Climate Action.

Refuse to Pay!

All are invited to take part in a mass action against soaring public transport prices on Sunday 20th April. We encourage people from all walks of life to board trains into the central London terminals, refusing to pay the fare. People will converge together at the terminals at around 1pm. The action is highlighting the fact that public transport must become drastically cheaper and affordable if it is to become a viable alternative to the dominant carbon heavy motoring.
