Two scammers from Hertfordshire swindled several small establishments out of millions of pounds by giving them costly phone systems enhancements when not required.
Daniel Cullen and Daniel Buttle claimed to work for a department of BT and told naive customers they had to switch from analogue to digital. The pair told lies and said schools and small enterprises would be given assistance from government grants or loans and will get significant rebates- none of which was genuine. They wound up stealing over £1 million from unwary suspects.
